INTERNATIONAL
WORKSHOPS
Jacqueline holds a number of International
Workshops every year. These are a combination of a fun holiday, with kindred
spirits; and some serious work, involving belly dancing workshops, usually
with authentic local teachers. We arrange flights, accommodation, tourist
trips, workshops, etc on your behalf; or you can mix and match your own holiday
arrangements with ours. These trips are arranged by Belly Dancing Holidays
(BDH) - a non profit making club with the sole purpose of arranging
educational/leisure trips for the benefit of Jacqueline's students and their
families and friends.
Due to the current problems in the Middle East,
all International Workshops to this area are currently suspended; so it is
unlikely there will be any further trips in 2006 - but do check back here
occasionally, particularly if the situation apears to have
stabilised.
Below are links to details of the trips we arrange
regularly.
"The Small Print"
In accordance with ATOL regulations, "Travel Firms" are obliged
to state the capacity in which they are making available air travel.
BDH is a holiday club, NOT a "Travel Firm"; but could be considered
to be one, under certain interpretations of the regulations. For the
avoidance of doubt and on a voluntary basis, we have therefore made
this statement. It also explains the financial basis of the BDH club.
BDH is a not-for-profit club which arranges educational and
recreational trips for its members. It is neither a travel agent nor a flight
operator. It is not ATOL licenced, nor a member of IATA or ABTA, nor is it
an agent of an ATOL holder. As a club, it uses its group purchasing
power to negotiate the best prices available from travel or flight agents
(which will, themselves, have whatever licensing or association membership
is necessary and appropriate; e.g. ATOL, IATA, ABTA); it then handles
the administration, on behalf of its members, to obtain the necessary
flights, accommodation and related services. Similarly, BDH are not insurance
brokers, but will arrange a suitable travel insurance on your behalf,
if requested to do so. However, all such services are purchased specifically
for the club member and on their behalf; they are not purchased by BDH
and then sold on. By signing the booking form conditions, the club
member takes full financial responsibility for each element of the booking;
the cost of which may be recovered from the member by the service provider
directly, in case of default. The total cost of the trip comprises the elements
of cost (i.e. flights, transfers, accommodation, insurance, trips, etc.)
plus a handling margin, usually between 15% and 25% (depending on the
group size) of the final price to cover the actual costs of the local
agents and the organisers. The organisers take no fee, salary, or profit.
Any surplus resulting from any trip is utilised to reduce costs on small
group trips; or to cover the costs of researching new trips. Membership of
BDH is free of charge; and awarded to anyone requesting it or booking
a BDH trip. The organisers retain the right to refuse or rescind membership
for any reason whatsoever! |
